Yes! Our psychiatry practice offers telehealth services for mental health care, in compliance with Ohio state laws and HIPAA guidelines. Patients must confirm their identity and ensure a private, secure environment for the session. Telehealth may not be suitable for all conditions, and in-person visits may be recommended if needed. Our team will help determine if telehealth is appropriate for your care.
We understand that circumstances arise from time to time that requires a cancellation or rescheduling of a visit. We will work with you to find alternate times and options for scheduled sessions that you are unable to attend. We request that you give at least 24 hours notice prior to a cancellation, so that the time may be allotted to another patient in need. If such notice is not given prior to a missed session, it is our general policy to charge the usual fee for that missed session. (Note: In general, insurance carriers will not reimburse for missed appointment charges.)
We are currently in-network providers for OSU Health Plan, OSU Student Health Plan, and Ohio Health. We are not taking any new referrals for Medicare or Medicaid. Please contact our office and inquire directly as to your specific insurance coverage and billing. We’ll be happy to guide you through that process.
At Central Ohio Behavioral Medicine, your privacy is our top priority. Information divulged in any treatment session is kept strictly confidential. Your consent must be obtained before sharing or discussing any information with outside providers of care or family members. There are some limitations to this rule, specifically with regard to situations that may arise where your physician feels there is a direct threat of physical harm involved.
We attempt to respond to phone calls in a timely fashion. If a phone conversation is brief (such as scheduling a session or managing a medication refill) no charges are billed. However, if a phone discussion involves extended contact and clinical decision making, we reserve the right to either charge at the usual session rates or ask you to come in for a formal appointment.
While email can be an effective tool for communication, there are certain problems with its use as a part of ongoing psychiatric treatment. The inability to ensure complete confidentiality in such communications is a key area of concern. For this reason and others, we generally prefer to communicate in person or by phone when consultation is indicated. As noted above, we will make every effort to respond to phone messages in a timely fashion.
We accept payments in the form of personal checks, cash, debit cards and a host of credit cards.
