Anxiety Doesn’t Always Look Like Anxiety

Many people imagine anxiety as obvious nervousness or panic.

In reality, anxiety often shows up in quieter ways:

  • Constant overthinking
  • Trouble relaxing
  • Irritability
  • Poor sleep
  • Feeling mentally exhausted
  • Difficulty focusing
  • Physical tension
  • A sense that something is always “wrong”

Some people live with anxiety for years without realizing it. They assume they are just stressed, burned out, weak, or “bad at coping.”

They are not.

Anxiety is common, treatable, and often responds well to the right psychiatric care. Treatment may include thoughtful medication management, therapy recommendations, lifestyle strategies, or a combination tailored to the individual.

At Central Ohio Behavioral Medicine, we provide compassionate psychiatric care for adults in Columbus dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, and related concerns.

If life has started to feel smaller because of worry, stress, or mental exhaustion, help is available.

In-person appointments in Columbus and telepsychiatry across Ohio.
