Ever catch yourself procrastinating, second-guessing or zoning out completely?
Anxiety often shows up where we least expect it.
In fact, it can hide behind things like:
▪️ Procrastination
▪️ Trouble making decisions
▪️ Feeling “off” without knowing why
In my 30 years as a psychiatrist – and in my own personal struggles with anxiety – I’ve learned that anxiety can be sneaky. It shows up in both loud and quiet ways. But no matter how it looks, there are things we can do to manage it.
🔸 3 Ways to Tackle Anxiety 🔸
✅ Name What You Feel
It’s easier to deal with something once you recognize it. Ask yourself: “Is this really laziness or is it fear? Is it fatigue – or stress?” Naming the emotion gives you power over it.
✅ Practice Short Pauses
Even a one-minute break to breathe, stretch or reset can quiet the mind. It’s not about doing everything. It’s about finding calm in the chaos.
✅ Challenge the Story
Anxiety tells us stories: “You’re not ready,” “You’ll mess it up,” “People will judge you.” Ask yourself: “Is this true? Or is it just anxiety talking?”
“We suffer more in imagination than in reality.” – Seneca
Anxiety can feel overwhelming, but it doesn’t define you. With small, consistent steps, you can loosen its grip and begin to feel like yourself again.
You are not alone in this.
And you’re so much stronger than the fear.
